The mission of the Renee and Chaim Gross Foundation is to further the understanding of the life and work of the American sculptor Chaim Gross (1904-91). The Foundation is located in the artist's historic Greenwich Village townhouse and studio space, and houses an extensive collection of Gross's sculptures, drawings, sketchbooks, and prints. Currently, the Foundation is preparing an online catalogue raisonné of Gross’s sculptures from 1922-91.
Guided by the values of Gross and his wife, Renee, the Foundation also undertakes projects and collaborations that relate to modern art and American art history, such as gallery talks, educational tours, and readings, among other programs. In September 2009 the Foundation also inaugurated biannual exhibitions featuring Gross’s art as well as European and African art from the Gross’s personal collection.
We hope to see you soon at LaGuardia Place!
